Ex Ponte Morandi Memorial Museum

The green wall rises from the ashes

The bioclimatic greenhouse in the Memorial Museum of Ex Ponte Morandi was built on the site of the collapse of the old bridge. This greenhouse combines aesthetics, memory and sustainability. Verde Verticale, in collaboration with the architectural studio of Stefano Boeri, has helped to transform this deeply affected area into a symbolic place of rebirth and reflection.

The green wall contains a selection of 43 essences to represent the number of victims of the tragic collapse of the Morandi Bridge. The plants have been chosen for their aesthetic shapes and colours to transform the space into a fluid and natural environment.

This bioclimatic greenhouse is an example of innovative and sustainable design and contributes to the regeneration of an area marked by tragedy. It is a place where the citizens and the community of Genoa can meditate and find hope.

Location:Genova
Number of plants:3.300
Dimensions:156 m²
