New Murano Gallery
Art, nature and innovation in the heart of Murano
Inside the historic New Murano Gallery, two vertical gardens blend harmoniously with the architecture of the craft workshop, transforming the space into a perfect synthesis of tradition and innovation. Every detail of the project has been designed to recall the elegance and vibrant colours of the famous Murano glass, creating a green wall that dialogues with the art and the surrounding environment.
The choice of 748 plants belonging to 22 different species was guided by the desire to reproduce the iridescent and refined effect of the glass work, with chromatic variations that evolve with the seasons. Thanks to the perfect integration with the structure, the two vertical gardens give depth and dynamism to the spaces, enhancing the charm of the old furnace and making the workshop an even more evocative place for visitors. In addition to their aesthetic value, these vertical gardens contribute to improving the indoor microclimate, reducing the building's environmental impact and improving air quality. The natural thermal insulation provided by the plants helps regulate room temperature, ensuring greater comfort within the exhibition space.
The project is a celebration of the beauty, culture and tradition of Murano, demonstrating how vertical greenery can be an element in enhancing the artistic and architectural heritage. The result is an immersive experience that envelops visitors in an atmosphere of harmony between the age-old art of glassmaking and the regenerating power of nature.
